Regulated Custody or Your Own Keys

Both models carry risk. They put it in different places, so pick the one you are better placed to manage.

Who you rely on

A company authorised as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under MiCA by the Bank of Lithuania, holding your balance until you withdraw it.

Your own wallet. Paymento routes and records payments but never holds them, and cannot move them without your authorized session.

What you manage

Withdrawals: when to request them and which route to pay for.

Your keys. Bring your own wallet, or use an embedded wallet store protected by your passkey that you can export at any time.

If you leave

Withdraw what is left in your balance, above the 50 EUR minimum.

There is nothing to withdraw. The money was never anywhere but your wallet.

Getting Paid Out Has Its Own Price List

On CoinGate, money reaches you through a withdrawal: crypto and SEPA are free above a 50 EUR minimum, SWIFT costs 0.50%, and crypto payouts to someone else cost 0.50 EUR plus 0.5%. With Paymento there is no withdrawal at all. You move your own funds when you like and pay only the network fee.

Test Every Integration Before a Customer Pays

Run your whole checkout on Bitcoin testnet, Ethereum Sepolia or Tron Shasta first. The callbacks you receive there are signed with HMAC-SHA256 exactly as in production, and the verify endpoint answers the same way, so your order logic is proven before you switch it on.

CoinGate Alternative FAQ

Custody and regulation

According to CoinGate, its operator UAB Decentralized is authorised as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under MiCA by the Bank of Lithuania, and licensed as a payment institution for electronic money token transfers.

CoinGate keeps your balance and pays it out on a schedule; Paymento never holds the payment, which goes straight into a wallet you control.

Fees and volatility

CoinGate lists free crypto and SEPA withdrawals above a 50 EUR minimum and 0.50% for SWIFT. Paymento has no withdrawals, because the funds are already in your wallet; you pay only normal network fees when you move them yourself.

Price in USD or EUR and accept stablecoins: USDT on Ethereum or Tron, or USDC on Solana. You are paid in a dollar-pegged token held in your own wallet (how stablecoins work). See the stablecoin payment gateway for details.

Getting started

An email address and a wallet: either one you already control, connected by public address or xpub, or a new embedded wallet created in the dashboard. Paymento does not ask for KYC to open the account; your own regulatory and tax obligations still apply.

Yes. Paymento integrations can be tested on Bitcoin testnet, Ethereum Sepolia and Tron Shasta, with the same signed callbacks you will use in production.
